Creating your own Family Crest/Coats of Arms

Design Your own Coat of Arms in four easy steps!

We have set up here a simple system to enable you to design your own coat of arms for engraving on pewter giftware. Bear in mind that Coats of Arms are normally created to reflect the life and interests of the person for whom it is created.

  • Step 1 is to decide which layout you wish to use from the 4 'blanks' shown below.
  • Step 2 is to choose the element - animals/objects which you wish to add to the blank by browsing the designs available.
  • Step 3 is to decide on a motto if you wish to include one -see examples
  • Step 4 is to email your choices to our engraving department. (see example below)

If you wish to include a banner beneath the crest, you will need to specify the wording, which can be in any language. A wide choice of Latin Mottoes is avaiable at http://www.heraldryclipart.com/mottoes.html

Sending in your choice of crest details:

Basically you need to tell us which of the above crest 'blanks' above you have chosen, then detail the names shown on the page of objects for each position letter shown above.

Example of the details to email to have your crest designed:

"Please use 2. Crest with 'Gule', a=Boar_sejant.jpg, b=Fleur-de-lys.jpg, c= Thistle2-001.jpg, d=Fleur-de-lys.jpg, with motto "Pietas tutissima virtus"
